    Description

    This course examines Anna Freud’s life, work and legacy through 12 video lectures, delivered by world experts from the British Psychoanalytical Society. The lectures examine all of Anna Freud’s key contributions to the field of Psychoanalysis, and also consider the impact that her work has had on other fields such as medicine and law.

    Lecturer Bio

    Jennifer Davids is a Fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society (BPAS) and an adult, child and adolescent psychoanalyst, working in London. She is a supervising analyst for child and adolescent psychoanalysis at the BPAS, and has supervised and taught in the UK, at the Anna Freud Centre, IPCAPA, BPF and the Tavistock clinic, as well as internationally.
    She has published widely including a book The Nursery Age Child (Karnac books, 2010). Currently she is working on a collection of papers on adoption, siblings, and transference and countertransference in adolescence.

    Marie Zaphiriou Woods is a child psychotherapist and psychoanalyst working with children, adolescents and adults. She was the manager of the Anna Freud Centre Parent-Toddler Group Service, from 1999 to 2008. She is now a fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society and is also a training analyst for the British Psychotherapy Foundation.
    She has contributed to several books and publications, including: Parents and Toddlers in Groups (Routledge, 2010).

    Angela Joyce
    is a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst with the British Psychoanalytical Society and a Child Psychoanalyst trained at the Anna Freud Centre, London. There she was a member of the pioneering Parent Infant Project for many years from 1997 and also jointly led the resurgence of child psychotherapy. She now works in private practice in London.
    She is currently Chair of the Winnicott Trust and a Trustee of the Squiggle Foundation, and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London. She has written numerous papers and contributed to books on early development and parent-infant psychotherapy, and Winnicottian studies. Her latest book is Reading Winnicott (Karnac Books, 2001) and she has also contributed a volume to the Introduction to the Collected Works of D. W. Winnicott (Oxford University Press, 2017).

    Dr. Luis Rodriguez de la Sierra
    is a Training and Supervising Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychoanalyst of the British Psychoanalytical Society. He qualified as a psychiatrist in Barcelona and London, where he also trained as a Group psychotherapist.
    He has worked for many years in the NHS and at the Anna Freud Centre and currently works in private practice. His publications include Child Analysis Today (Karnac books, 2005) and The Late Teenage Years: From Seventeen to Adulthood (Karnac books, 2013).

    Marianne Parsons is a child and adult psychoanalyst. She first trained at the Hampstead Clinic (later renamed the Anna Freud Centre) and was Head of the Clinical Training and training analyst and supervisor there. She has taught and supervised on many child and adult psychoanalytic trainings in the UK and abroad. For nearly 20 years she was a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in the NHS at the Portman Clinic, London, where she was a member of the Violence Research Group led by Mervin Glasser and developed a special interest in young people who act violently. She now works in private practice and is training analyst and supervisor at IPCAPA and chair of its Training Analysis Committee.

    Prof. Ken Robinson is Visiting Professor of Psychoanalysis at Northumbria University.
    He is a member of British Psychoanalytical Society and works in private practice. He is a contributor to The Collected Works of Donald Winnicott (Oxford University Press, 2017) and regularly publishes work in Psychoanalytic journals.

    Peter Wilson has held senior positions as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in the NHS, at the Institute of Psychiatry, Peper Harow Therapeutic Community, the Brent Consultation Centre and the Brandon Centre for Adolescents.
    He was co-founder and Director of the national child mental health charity Young Minds, and the Clinical Adviser to the Place2Be charity that provides a national counselling service in schools. He has been actively involved in policy developments in the field of child and adolescent mental health services.
    He trained in child psychoanalysis at the Hampstead Child Therapy Course from 1967 – 1971, under the supervision of Anna Freud.

    Lydia Tischler is a Fellow of the British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPF), and currently a teaching member of the staff of the Independent Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association (IPCAPA).
    She trained under Anna Freud at the Hampstead Clinic and worked for many years at the Cassel Hospital. She was a founder member of EFPP (European Federation of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy), initiated the training programme in child and adolescent psychotherapy in the Czech Republic, and has taught in Estonia, St Petersburg, and Croatia.

    Susan Loden is a Training and Supervising Analyst of the British Psychoanalytical Society. She has taught Freud and been involved with the Curriculum of the Institute of Psychoanalysis for many years. She currently works in private practice.
